And.....CUT! Multimedia contest closed for submissions. |
The deadline is past. The submissions are in. Great job EVERYONE! Now comes the fun part for us. Watching some cool stuff!
As an exciting aside, I had a crazy morning. I have to say I expected the morning to be crazy because of all the submission traffic and last minute questions/problems from contest goers, etc.
That was a failure of imagination.
That's not crazy. Crazy is coming into the office on the morning after the contest deadline to find our Dell Power Edge Small Business Server deader than a door-nail. And let me tell y'all, black screen of death is even scarier than blue screen of death. No access to the web. No access to email. No access to the submission files. Nadda. Couldn't even get it through the BIOS on boot-up. [cue tears] :(
Happily...the problem was just a dead stick of ram. Easily fixable...once you puzzle through WHICH stick was dead (they should really make ones that turn pretty colors when they die...like leaves). So...Citizens for Global Solutions limps onwards with a little less speed than it had yesterday. No worries, we'll be track stars soon since a new server is gonna have to come our way. The server is losing it's mo-jo, week by week. (Did I ever mention that our little 'ole non-profit takes DONATIONS?) Poor thing has probably seen it's last contest...but I digress.
The point is that if you submitted a piece in the last 24 hours, give us a little extra time to confirm receipt...we're running about 4 hours behind. No biggie. Just be patient.
- Cheers!
Val
