2009 Contest Results...keep the drum rolling a little longer...

We apologize for the delay in the posting of the 2009 Contest results. We know many of you are anxious to see the results. The competition was tight and our judges needed a little more time to work through all the different entry formats (we learned a LOT about having an open format competition this go around!). We hope to have the winners posted soon. Check back on this blog for updates. Thank you for your patience.

And.....CUT! Multimedia contest closed for submissions.

The deadline is past. The submissions are in. Great job EVERYONE!  Now comes the fun part for us. Watching some cool stuff!

As an exciting aside, I had a crazy morning.  I have to say I expected the morning to be crazy because of all the submission traffic and last minute questions/problems from contest goers, etc.

That was a failure of imagination.

Today is the final day for submissions in the multimedia contest!

Well, I've been receiving entries all morning.  Keep 'em coming folks!  You've got till midnight.

Some savvy cats asked me this weekend if they could turn in their piece at midnight Hawaii time.  I have to say, I have a very soft spot in my heart for folks who game the system.  But only to a point. :-)

Whaddahuh??

I got a call from a nice contest goer who informed me that he saw an email today (wednesday, November 25th) from us stating that there were 34 days left in the contest.  We did send out an email today...but it said that the contest due date was coming up on December 1st. Did some people get the old one???

Final announcement for multimedia contest deadline was sent today!

DEADLINE: DECEMBER 1, 2009 - MIDNIGHT

This is crazy exciting!!! We're starting to get entries. Val is giddy as a school girl...

Now for some turkey...

:)

Multimedia Contest Deadline Extended: Dec 1st.

Some may call us easy. We prefer helpful, obliging or accommodatingly. Any YES, we know this is potentially annoying to all of you contest goers who budget their time to get things on or before the due date. We send you good karma and good luck. But feel free to email us with your scathing remarks. We'll have the interns get back to you [*Val ducks beneath her desk for safety*]. - Val

How'd we break our own CGS contest Logos? Oh well...fixed now!

Howdy - thanks to those thoughtful peeps who've let us know that our own rules were pretty hard to follow, seeing as how you couldn't download any of the logos that we asked you to include in your submissions.

Fixed now! CGS code-monkeys sorry!

Here they are:

Multimedia Contest is open to non-Americans!

Got a lot of questions from people asking this.Just be aware that if you win a prize and you're not a US Citizen, prize money is reduced by 30%. We're not being discriminatory, it's US tax law to blame.

We're citizens for GLOBAL solutions - we couldn't really hold that name if we were just for Americans, no? :)

Does size really matter? (Multimedia Contest file size, that is...)

Happy Friday Everyone who's following our Multimedia Contest blog.

I've been getting some great questions from people who are ACTUALLY READING THE RULES... (Yay!)

Rule #4 is about format and technical requirements and includes a cap on the file sizes of entries.  We said 100MB.  Some folks who want to enter this contest using video are concerned about that.  Videos can get very large very fast.

Here is an update/compromise/addendum to Rule #4 about file size:

Multimedia Comp. - First Submissions!

Hooray for the early birds who have already submitted something!

Since they have plenty of time, they can create and submit MORE pieces, thus increasing their chances. Who does that, you ask? PEOPLE WHO WANT TO WIN, that's who! Do you want to win?
